The TMS Program consists of four steps:
1) Initial evaluation
(45 minutes). If you wish, bring all medical information such as X-rays, MRI's, CT scans, and reports from different
specialists. However, do not worry if obtaining records is a problem and you are unable to bring them with you.
2) Two lectures
(approximately 45 minutes each). These are lectures about TMS and how to treat it. At the end of these lectures,
you will receive instructions about what to do for the following four weeks. If you are not satisfied with the
speed of your recovery, you are welcome to the third step.
3) Follow-up
group sessions. There is no charge for these.
4) Advanced
treatments. If your problems are profound, you will be referred to one of the specially trained psychoanalysts
to get help. There is a separate charge for this.
The educational program, i.e., the lectures and follow-up meetings, will cure 85 to 90% of patients with TMS; 10
to 15% will need psychotherapy to complete the process. This is no disgrace. We can all profit from learning what
is going on in our unconscious minds, which is what good psychotherapy is all about.
